Baltimore Half Marathon 10/10/09

Well-I finished the Baltimore Half Marathon today-it took 3:07 long hours! Not my worst but far from my best. There were a lot more hills than I was expecting or had trained for. Since I have been dealing with injuries I have not done much training. Did the Freedom Run 1/2 last week so that may have tired my legs out. The half started at 9:45 or about 10 by the time my corral made it to the start (Corral 4). We said at the Inner Harbor on Friday and Saturday it was nice and made for a nice weekend. It was drizzling at the start but was warm. Patterson Park was Mile 3 and it was the M&T Bank mile so they made it a lot of fun-with a band, signs and lots of spectators. Mile 7ish was Lake Montebello which was nice and flat, finally. Mile 10 was in Waverly which was the Gummi Bear station and a lot of the neigborhood out in full force. It was great running into Camden Yards but that was when I got my first calf cramp and had to stop and try and walk it off. Continued my slow run to the Raven's Stadium and was glad to have finished and get my MD Double medal! It was a long walk back to the hotel and I took a nice ice bath. It really took a lot out of me was in bed early no night on the town for us. I would like to cross train and get some of this extra weight off not sure how easy it will be with the holidays coming up.
